The documentary provides an overview of the welfare of pilgrims and the local native American tribe into the Wampanoag. Major lessons learnt from the documentary revolve around the issue of racial coexistence as opposed to the today’s prevailing racial discrimination and political wars. This challenges my knowledge of this period of history since, considering that they were less educated and intelligent than the modern man, they were able to resolve their political, cultural and language differences and live in harmony. The Wampanoag and pilgrims appear to have a strong will to protect their environment, people and culture. Relating to identity and institutions, the documentary depicts the ideal cooperation and help of individuals from distinct backgrounds.
