The article chosen for review should be from an academic journal and published after December 2010. For a sample academic journal list please refer to the one posted on the Blackboard. Your search may include a combination of keywords such as; migration, crime, immigration, victimization, victim, undocumented, illegal immigrant, deportation and other titles that you can find in the syllabus. The article should be on an issue related to migration and crime and to any topics that will be covered in the course.
After finding the article obtain approval from the instructor by providing the citation information of the journal article. Simply send an email to the instructor with the course name, your name, and the word article in the subject line of the email (i.e. SOC 335 Migration & Crime John Smith Article). Include citation of the article in the content of your email (i.e. Sohoni, D., & Sohoni, T. P. (2014). Perceptions of immigrant criminality: Crime and social boundaries. Sociological Quarterly, 55(1), 49-71.). The approval is to be secured until Friday, February 21st, 11:59 pm and the final form of the review is due Friday, March 6th, 2020, 11:59 pm.
Final version of the article review assignment will be submitted to the Assignment tab of the course page by uploading the review as a word or PDF document to the section created by the instructor.
