I would suggest three topics but you are free to choose another.
1. Hate Crime and its effects on immigrant communities.
2. Is assimilation is a good or bad thing? In which situations?
3. Psychological consequences of immigration-related situations DACA, deportation, asylum, being a refugee, etc.
Use as many sources as you want.
Students who choose studying individually are required to conduct a research project on an important research topic related to immigration and crime. An approval for the final paper topic should be obtained by students by sending an email to the professor before the Spring recess at the latest. The final paper may begin with a brief, one paragraph explanation on why that topic is chosen, importance of the problem, or significance of the study. The first page should include the thesis statement and introduce the topic. The second through fourth pages should provide support for this argument incorporating the main points presented in the assigned readings. The fifth through sixth pages should include any relevant examples and final pages should conclude conclusions and suggestions of the paper. Individual papers should be about 5 minimum, 7 maximum double-spaced pages in length, excluding references, using Times New Roman format and 12 pt. size. It is to be checked by students for spelling and grammar before submission. In-text citations and References will be in accordance with APA style. It is going to be uploaded to Assignments section as a Word or PDF file. A rubric for individual paper can be found in the Assignments section of the Blackboard.
