Title: Brexit and the emerging global scenario
You should critically analyse the recent economic performance of the UK and the EU (average) since 2007 (up to date). You should use the following indicators:
GDP growth rate
The Balance of payments and the trade deficit between UK and EU
Based on the data you have collected and the different Brexit scenarios, you must identify the stage of the business cycle in which the economy is now in the UK and the EU. On this basis, you must provide a prediction of the business cycle stage and the trade deficit for the following two years.
In your report you should answer these questions:
1) Based on the data you have described , critically discuss how the different Brexit scenarios may alter the correlation of forces in the global world and how the possible emergency of protectionist measures may change the winners and losers of globalization.
2) Based on the data you have described, critically discuss how Brexit may change the global patterns of trade and, particularly, the relations between EU, UK and the BRICS.
